COVID-19 Testing

Getting Tested for Covid-19 in Black Hawk County

Testing for COVID-19 is an important tool to prevent the spread of the virus in the community. If you receive a positive COVID result and need help managing your symptoms, please contact your health care provider.

The CDC recommends the following key times for COVID-19 Testing:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, consider taking a test.
  • If you are in certain high-risk settings, you may need to test as part of a screening testing program.
  • Consider testing before contact with someone at high risk for severe COVID-19.

For guidance on using tests to determine which mitigations are recommended as you recover from COVID-19, go to Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You're Sick.

If you have other questions about COVID-19, go to About COVID-19.
